ABOUT NANTUCKET
Nantucket is serviced by fast ferry (passengers only) from New York, New Bedford, and Hyannis. Flights are available from New York, Boston, Providence, New Bedford, and Hyannis. The car ferry is from Hyannis only.
The island is one of America's most exclusive vacation destinations. Multi-million-dollar yachts tie up in the harbor, and the airport services Gulfstream, Falcon, and Boeing private jets by the hundreds.
The restaurants are excellent and plentiful. They tend to be expensive, however, due to the limited season of their operation.
Car traffic is a mess. There are too many cars in season, and limited parking downtown. UBER has become king, and taxis are available. Once someone gets downtown, however, everything is in walking distance. It's getting downtown that is the issue.
The focal point of the island is the foot of Main Street, where there is a huge compass that shows the heading and distances to all the great cities of the world. With the harbor behind you, you will look up the cobblestones of Main Street and know you are just footsteps away from all the action of the island.

11 UNION STREET HISTORY
The house was built in 1844 when Nantucket had the highest standard of living in the world (due to the Whaling industry). Its proximity to Main street and the harbor was of great value. In 2016 the property was purchased by a gentleman from Morocco, who divided the property into two lots. He sold the vacant land, and with the income from the sale he rebuilt the entire house from top to bottom. He literally poured a new foundation under the house. New walls, new roof, new siding, new electric, new plumbing, new air conditioning, new appliances, new floor plan...the only real similarity to what he started with is that the exterior of the house was duplicated in minute detail to match the historical clarity of the original property.
